Other Equipment from Inventory

Batteries

There are two containers of batteries located in Ken's office:

  1. New batteries - Unused and fully charged.
  2. Used batteries - These do not have a full charge but are kept only when they have at least a 50-75% remaining charge. Since we may have to change batteries in equipment for use during long events or conferences, the batteries that we replace may not have enough charge for that particular event, but may have enough charge for use in another, shorter, event.

Gaff tape

Gaff tape (gaffer tape) is used to tape down cables in order to prevent tripping accidents.

Gaff tape is stored in Ken's office.

Aerial Personel Lift (Handy Herman), User Manual

Description: Model 24A, 115 VAC, Maximum capacity- 300lbs, Maximum platform height- 24ft.

Setup Considerations: Requires Key #H 2007. See also Keys & Access.

Troubleshooting: IMPORANT! The lift MUST only be powered by a 14 guage 50ft electrical extension cable. This cable must be stored in the lift bucket at all times. Use power outlets along the walls (i.e. circuit #7 or circuit #15) to power the lift. Do not use power outlet circuit #9 on the projection screen wall. DO NOT use power outlets in the floor (floor pockets).

Auxiliary AC Power Snake (Ballroom)

Description: Auxiliary power snake/connections used in either Ballroom 1 or Ballroom 3. Used to supply additional power for equipment during large-scale events. Pre-Authorization by the Media Services Coordinator is required! Snake is stored in the Projection Booth.

Setup Considerations:

The connection for BR 1 requires the CH751 key (#18 in the Student Activities key box). This connection does not require activation of a separate breaker box.

Pictures:

The connection for BR 3 requires access to the Mechanical room (H6-21 key) of the BR Lobby. When inside the doorway of the Mechanical Room, the connection is on the left wall (which is the other side of the BR 3 wall). Once the cable is securely connected, a 40Amp breaker must be switched on, and the red Main Power throw must be moved to the "ON" position. Both the breaker and the main power throw must be disengaged before removing the power cable.
