COURSE COST

• The textbook and teaching materials comprises a training system and costs $70.00, due when the class begins. The training system is part of the diver's equipment. Therefore each diver must purchase the training system from the instructor. In the event of withdrawal from the class for any reason, the sale of the textbook and student kit remains final; no refunds.

• A non-refundable course fee of $170.00, due before open-water training begins.

• We will try to find open water training locations that are free of charge. However, we will probably need to use one of the SCUBA recreational parks. Willow Springs costs $65 per person per day.

• The basic package of equipment, which includes a mask, snorkel, open-heal fins, regulator mouthpiece, and neoprene boots, generally costs around $80. Again, the BU Scuba Club has extra equipment to lend to students who cannot afford the basic set of gear.

  Please be prepared to pay the cost of the open-water site. In recent times, free sites have not been available.

  *BU students who attend three SCUBA Club meetings per semester receive a $25 discount!

  Upon successful completion of the class/pool sessions and required open water training dives, an International Open Water Scuba Diver Certification Card will be issued.

  Certification allows divers to dive anywhere in the world.
  Certification never requires renewal; it carries a lifetime validity.
