Research - Biophysics
We have begun preliminary spectral analysis of the mating calls of Bufo fowlerii focussing on the strong amplitude and slight frequency modulation of these calls as a possible marker for mating selection. Specifically, we are trying to establish a correlation between these subtle call attributes and the body characteristics of mainland toads and the island dwarf versions in the Chesepeake area.
