80.590 Applied Research in Allied Health (3) - An independent investigation conducted under the direction of a member of the Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences in collaboration with the student’s radiologist mentor. The student identifies a question, develops and employs an experimental design, and collects and analyzes the data. A study of pertinent literature is required. The final project reports should be suitable for presentation in an appropriate professional society and/or publication in a professional journal. Prerequisite: 80.525.
This course is meant to guide students enrolled in the Radiologist Assistant Program at BU through an independent research project conducted under the direction of a member of the Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences faculty in collaboration with the student’s radiologist mentor. During this course, the student will conduct an original independent research project as outlined in their respective research proposals, submitted as part of the Methods in Research course (80:525). The course will culminate with the preparation of a research paper that provides an appropriate literature review and presents the findings of the study. Additionally the student will prepare a formal research presentation to be given during the last week of the semester.
