BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
After receiving a BFA in Painting from Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and an MFA in Painting from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, I was awarded a Graduate Scholarship to participate in an exchange program through the University of Michigan with Germany's State Art Academy in Karlsrhue. There I worked for a year with several faculty members who are renowned Neo-Expressionists, and who responded favorably to the distortions, and psychological tension in my work. Then in 1988, I returned to my hometown, Omaha, NE, where I continued developing and exhibiting my paintings. Gradually, I gained recognition, gallery representation, and exhibited widely in the region. I also was an adjunct faculty member at most of the colleges and universities in the area. In 1996, I accepted a teaching position at Bloomsburg University in north central Pennsylvania where I have established a permanent studio. Since then I have continued to refine my paintings and have increased the audience for my work.
