Blood Clotting: Interactions between Thrombin and Factor V The image shown is of the thrombin crystal structure from the Protein Databank (1BBR). |
Blood Clotting: Interactions between Thrombin and Fibrinopeptide B The image shows a blood clot. A clot begins to form when by thrombin hydrolyses fibrinopeptide A (FPA) and fibrinopeptide B (FPB) from fibrinogen. The fibring molecules associate to form the net that is shown. The image was found on Yunas Bhonoah's warfarin project web page on June 5, 2007. |

The Bradford Assay The structure of Coomassie Blue, the dye molecule that exhibits a change in lmax when bound to a protein. |
Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis The image shown is of Professor Robert Bruce Merrifield (1921-2006), winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1984 for developing solid phase peptide sythesis. The image was found on the Michigan State University, Department of Chemistry web page on June 5, 2007. |
