Icelandic Saga Manuscripts: TEI(P5)-Conformant Editions
Icelandic Correspondence: A Digital Hybrid Edition
Together with my collaborator Garrick Bodine (Lead Programmer/Analyst at Penn State), I’m working on a project entitled Developing a Digital Hybrid: An Electronic Edition for Literary and Linguistic Research.
This project uses the development of an electronic edition of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Icelandic correspondence as an opportunity to: 1) develop a hybrid model for electronic resources and 2) extend the range of web tools available for use with TEI documents. By addressing the gap in early Modern Icelandic resources while simultaneously creating tools and methods that may be easily broadened and extended to many other areas of textual analysis, philology, and linguistics, this project expands the availability and scope of existing digital humanities resources, specifically TEI-conformant projects.
