PDA Stats is compatible with both Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds.  Below you will find a list of minimum hardware and software requirements by platform.



Palm OS Handhelds:

  • Palm OS Version:  2.x - 5.x (at least OS version 2.0 up to and including OS version 5.x).
  • Screen Resolution: 160 x 160, 320 x 320, and 320 x 480.
  • Memory:  850 Kilobytes (full version) or 450 KB (trial version) of RAM available.  Note: The ideal RAM available is 1.5MB (full version) or 1MB (trial version).
  • Color:  supports color and monochrome.
  • Virtual Machine:  Superwaba.  This is the virtual machine required for PDA Stats because it is a Java application.  The version of Superwaba that is shipped with PDA Stats is required.


 
Pocket PC Handhelds:

  • Pocket PC OS Version:   Pocket PC 2002,  2003, 2003 Second Edition, 2002 Phone Edition, 2003 Phone Edition, and Windows Mobile 5.
  • Processors:  XScale, StrongARM, MIPS, and SH3.
  • Screen Resolution:  240 x 320 and VGA.
  • Memory:  850 Kilobytes (full version) or 450 KB (trial version) of RAM available.  Note: The ideal RAM available is 1.5MB (full version) or 1MB (trial version).
  • Color:  supports color and monochrome.
  • Virtual Machine:  Superwaba.  This is the virtual machine required for PDA Stats because it is a Java application.  The version of Superwaba that is shipped with PDA Stats is required.

*Note:  The Palm OS 5, utilizes a memory management system that may affect the operation of PDA Stats (and, we believe, other Palm software).  We have thoroughly tested our software on the new Palm OS 5 handhelds, and believe PDA Stats operation is robust on this device.  As this operating system and SuperWaba evolve, we expect future versions of PDA Stats to be even more efficient and a continued effective solution for summary and inferential statistics.
