Dr. Stephen D. Clickard

Dr. Stephen D. Clickard, Professor of Music, was appointed to the Bloomsburg University music faculty in 1998. He directs the BU Jazz Ensemble and the Audio Recording Program. Dr. Clickard teaches courses in undergraduate conducting, jazz history, jazz improvisation, music education, the brass studio, and is the faculty advisor for the Zeta Alpha chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. Dr. Clickard is president-elect of the International Association for Jazz Education’s Pennsylvania Unit, and a past-president of the California Music Educator’s Association – Central Coast Section. He is a former administrator of the Monterey Jazz Festival’s Summer Jazz Camp and is a contributing author for the books “A Composer’s Insight – Volumes 1 and III”. Dr. Clickard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from San Jose State University, a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from The University of Northern Colorado, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting from the University Of Washington.
 
Dr. Clickard is the director of the Seasoned Sounds Big Band and The Clickard Consortium, a jazz tentet.
