Cognates: They look the same, but sound different!

Play the recordings of the sixteen words as pronounced in German. Write down how the German pronunciation differs from how US-American pronunciation for each word.
Example- Nation: The "a" sounds like "ah" instead of "aye". The "ti" is not a "sh" sound, but a "tsi". The "o" is more "oh" and not "un". The stress is on the last syllable, not the first.

(Most words will have one to three differences.) Bring the written assignment to class.
