Accuplacer Mathematics Placement Test

Directions:

  1. Make sure all browsers have been set according to Accuplacer's specifications.
  2. Students may not use a calculator or any reference material, despite the fact that some questions may suggest the use of a calculator.
  3. Make sure the students print out their summary sheet and that they keep it.
  4. Have computers already set to: http://cpts.accuplacer.com/ before testing starts, and have the students click on the Image.
  5. The correct profile settings are:

    These should already be set. Do not change them.

  6. You should have contacted the math department to get an ID and Password.
  7. If a student gets booted off the system, they can be restarted from where they left off, by selecting

    8. ADMINISTER AN OPEN SESSION

    You can view a list and select that student for them.

  8. If a student encounters a "bad question", (i.e. something can't be read), then have the student guess. Bad questions must be experimental ones, since errors have been filtered out of the questions that actually count.
  9. If an issue arises in the middle of a test that you are unsure how to handle, then exit the test, email Dr. Ferland, and you will need to resume the "open session" at a later date.
  10. If something comes up that is not addressed on this sheet, then please inform Dr. Ferland so that he may update it.
