Important Upcoming Events at BU
The next meeting of the semester will be Wednesday 30 September at 6:30 PM in the LLC room in Columbia Hall. We will be having a guest speaker, Dr. Mark Seeley, from Geisinger Medical Center. Dr. Seeley is a pediatric orthopedic spine surgeon. He will be talking to us about what it takes to get from rural PA into medical school and also about his experiences. He will be there at 6:30 PM. Please come and learn about this very interesting career.
Meet the Pre-Professional Advisory Committee
On Monday 21 September, the Pre-professional Advisory Committee will have an open meeting to introduce interested students to the members of the committee. The purpose and role of the committee in preparing students for the medical professions will be presented and students will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about preparations for the admission to the schools of the medical professions. The meeting will be at 6 PM in ABLE (LLC room) Columbia Hall.
The Pre-medical Sciences Club will sponsor a volleyball tournament on Saturday 14 November to support St. Monica Primary school in Tanzania. For more details, please contact the officers of the Pre-Medical Science Club.
Primary Care Day: Penn State Hershey Medical School
The Penn State College of Medicine’s Annual Primary Care Day gives undergraduate students, selected high school students and even medical students an opportunity to learn more about the primary care disciplines and practice, medical school, the application process, and student life. During this one-day program, students are given the chance to interact with medical students and primary care physicians and speak with faculty about the College of Medicine. This event will be held on Saturday 17 October. Registration is required by Monday 5 October. Students planning to attend must register at the address below.

West Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine
An admissions counselor from WVCOM will be on campus Thursday 22 October at 6 PM. Students interested in osteopathic medicine are encouraged to attend. The meeting will take place in room G27 HSC.
Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine
Mr. David Martin, an admissions officer from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine will be visiting campus on Monday 19 October; the place is yet to be determined. Please come and learn about this interesting medical career.
