MESSAGE CENTER (updated ) Wednesday, August 6 - KEY for PRS 8 has been posted; PRS Quiz & Exam Results and Results - Informal PRS Exercises have been updated for last items for this summer session.

File Current grades has been posted. This gives you the grades you have received on the two exams, all the PRS quizzes and the informal PRS exercises. Your grade prior to the final is summed and your current grade going into the final is given. That is the grade you would receive if your performance on the final was the same as your overall current performance in the course. Of course you can do better and get a higher grade BUT also do poorer and get a lower grade.

Thursday, July 31- Resources for final including review sheet, sample final exam and key to sample final exam have been posted. USE GREAT CAUTION WITH THESE RESOURCES - DO NOT JUST PRINT OUT THE KEY TO SAMPLE FINAL AND STUDY IT. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO ANSWER THE SAME QUESTION IF IT APPEARS ON THE FINAL (WHICH IT WILL NOT). Seating for final will be in new grid to allow access to answer questions while you are taking exam: FINAL SEATING GRID

Wedesday, July 30 - Results - Informal PRS Exercises and PRS Quiz & Exam Results have been updated for most recent activity; Running Problem Interludes are up to date for latest work done in class.

PRS Rules and Usage: make sure you send an answer even a quess - you get a point. You get zero points if you do not answer, are late for the quiz and miss sending an answer or are absent. Make sure your PRS is working and the batteries are charged. You are responsible for its upkeep. If you have to borrow a PRS transmitter for a quiz you will have a 1/3 deduction of points (for instance a perfect grade of 15 on a quiz will become a 10).

Lecture Notes: make sure you stay ahead of printing out notes and have the notes that will be discussed in class in front of you.

Problems & Reading Assignements: make sure you do the problems and stay up with the reading assignments by checking where you should be on the day by day schedule of your course syllabus

-----------------------------------------------------------The listings to the left are lecture notes used in class. PP refers to Power Point. If you have Power Point on the computer you are using, the file will come up with all the dynamic features you saw in class. Use the Power Point version if you need to sometimes get a dynamic view of a chemical idea; pdf refers to an Adobe pdf file; all computers can bring these up. It gives you a static view of the slides shown in class. You should print out the pdf file with 3 per page for the notes you will bring to class; you could also do this for the PP file. Make sure when you print that you choose black (or grayscale), not color. Otherwise, especially if you are printing on your home printer, you will soon run out the color cartridge. You can always indicate emphasis on the printed page for items in color or some other means

The listings to the right are the other class resources. This is where review sheets, keys from exams and grades will be posted.
